Brittany Gosney is accused of murdering her 6-year-old-son James Hutchinson and then dumping her son’s body into a river. Brittany’s boyfriend James Hamilton is charged with assisting in the boy’s death.
On February 26, 2021 in Middletown, Ohio Brittany and her boyfriend took 6-year-old James and two other of her kids to Rush Run Park where she allegedly planned to abandon all three of her children. Brittany ordered her son James out of the car and tried to drive off without him, James tried to get back into the vehicle, she allegedly sped off, dragging James until he was dead.
Brittany drove back to her home and put James in a bedroom. The next day, Brittany and Hamilton allegedly disposed of James’ body in the Ohio River near the I-275 bridge.
Brittany then reported James missing to police on February 28, 2021. Police grew suspicious that Brittany waited nearly 24 hours to report the boy missing. Brittany allegedly confessed to killing James and dumping his body in the river.
James’ body still has not been found due to high rough waters. Brittany is charged with murder, abuse of a corpse, and tampering with evidence.
Hamilton is charged with abuse of a corpse and tampering with evidence.
