17-year-old Yamina Rookard is charged with the murder of Jessica Smith.
Jessica was shot to death on October 17, 2018 on Central Avenue. Authorities say Yamina was trying to rob Jessica.
As a result of information and evidence gathered during the investigation, detectives identified Yamina as a suspect in this case and obtained warrants for her arrest.
Yamina was arrested on December 12 and has been charged with Murder and Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon.
Jessica has a long arrest record, which includes drugs and prostitution charges.
