Ashley Adkins, 35, was killed in a massive wreck on January 23, 2022 in Charlotte, NC. Darryl Wamack, 24, is charged with involuntary manslaughter. Ashley was the mother of young children.

The fatal motor vehicle collision occurred on North Sharon Amity Road on January 23, 2022 at 10:27 a.m.

Darryl was operating a Infiniti car when he allegedly passed a vehicle in what officials describe at a high rate of speed. Authorities say Darryl attempted to change lanes and lost control, crossing the center median into opposing traffic.

Darryl’s vehicle then struck a Honda head-on in which Ashley was driving.

Both vehicles had severe front end damage. Paramedics transported both drivers to the hospital where Ashley was pronounced deceased by medical staff.

Darryl sustained serious injuries. A DWI Task Force officer responded to the hospital and determined that Darryl was not impaired at the time of the crash. Arrest warrants have been obtained for Darryl, they include involuntary manslaughter, reckless driving, and speeding. The warrants will be served to Darryl upon his release from the hospital.
