A woman was shot and killed by her male partner on the Martin Luther King holiday; a day that is meant to celebrate peace.
A woman that goes by the alias Amor Nayelli was the victim of Charlotte’s latest homicide. The homicide occurred on Great Laurel Road on Monday January 21, 2019.
Officers responded to a domestic violence assault with a deadly weapon call. Upon arrival, officers located Ms. Nayelli inside a residence with an apparent gunshot wound. Medic pronounced Ms. Nayelli deceased on scene.
Responding officers detained a person of interest at the residence and he is cooperating with detectives. No additional suspects are being sought by detectives at this time.
