Wingate University student athlete Kyle Honore died on August 16, 2022 after being hit by a train. Kyle was a freshman and played basketball for the university.
Kyle was struck by a train around 10 p.m. near the entrance of the university. The train tried to stop, but ended up hitting Kyle, knocking him back and into the air. 911 was called and Kyle was rushed to the hospital.
Kyle would later die.
