WHITE COUPLE SHOT AND ROBBED IN PLAZA AREA, TWO SUSPECTS GOING TO PRISON

“I looked up and it was a very large black male holding a gun,”

said Mrs. Parker during testimony after she was shot during a robbery.

Bruce and Joanne Parker were having dinner around 11 p.m. in December 2016, as the married couple were leaving the restaurant the suspects allegedly pulled up.

32-year-old Ebonee Ward, 36-year-old Jamall Glenn, and 28-year-old Antonio Worthy and were all arrested.

On July 22, 2019 a jury convicted Jamall and he was sentenced to at least 35 years in prison. Jamall was found guilty of attempted murder and other charges in connection with the shooting and robbery. Ebonee previously pled guilty to accessory after the fact to assault with a deadly weapon with the intent to kill inflicting serious injury. Antonio’s case is pending.

On December 17, 2016 Jamall, Ebonee, and Antonio were accused of approaching the victims in a strip mall parking lot on Central Avenue Charlotte, NC.

Jamall then robbed the 2 married victims at gunpoint and then shot them before getting into a vehicle and fleeing the scene. Ebonee was with Jamall. Antonio is accused of being on the scene of the crime.

Two off-duty police officers were in the area and heard the gunshots. One of the officers stayed with the victims, while the other officer pursued the suspects. The pursuit ended when the suspect’s vehicle crashed near Presbyterian Hospital. The victims were shot but were not killed. One of the suspects was captured immediately, but the other two fled the scene on foot before being located and arrested.

All three faced charges including Assault with a Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Bodily Injury, Conspiracy to Commit Armed Robbery, and Resist, Delay and Obstruct.
