On September 27, 2019 the police Crime Reduction Unit charged Datarius McHam, 22, and Zsaquan Burris, 21, for their alleged involvement in the murder of Melvin Bell, 59.
On May 5, 2019 Melvin was killed on Washburn Avenue Charlotte, NC around 11:17 p.m.
Patrol officers randomly heard shots fired in the area, and after circulating the area they found Melvin dead in the road from being shot.
Several months later probable cause was developed to obtain warrants on Datarius and Zsaquan.
Datarius has been charged with Murder, while Zsaquan has been charged with Accessory after the Fact to 1st Degree Murder.
