Jason Vernon, 23, is charged with a recent break-in and sexual assault case on Orchard Trace Lane Charlotte, NC.
Shortly after 1:30 a.m., on May 3, 2021 a woman was sleeping at apartments on Orchard Trace Lane which is near a busy and violent West Sugar Creek intersection. A suspect broke into her apartment and sexually assaulted her. The woman screamed and fought to get the suspect off of her, but to no avail. The suspect eventually left in an unknown direction.
The female called 911.
Through information and evidence obtained, detectives with the Sexual Assault Unit identified and arrested Jason. At approximately 3:00 p.m. on May 3, 2021, Jason was arrested and charged with 1st degree burglary, 1st degree kidnapping, sexual battery, assault on a female, interfere with emergency communication, and resisting public officer.
