Ingrid Freiheit, 32, was killed on January 13, 2021 during a motor vehicle collision in Charlotte, NC. On January 15 Julio Gilberto Perez, 34, was charged in Ingrid’s death.
The crash occurred near the intersection of North Sharon Amity Road and Wilora Lake Road.
Julio was driving a GMC SUV and struck a Mitsubishi that was driven by Ingrid. The collision caused Ingrid’s vehicle to rotate and travel into the path of a Ford vehicle, causing a second collision.
Julio was operating the SUV at a high rate of speed and in a reckless manner, which was contributing factors to this collision. Ingrid died on scene. Julio and the other people involved were sent to the hospital.
When Julio was released from the hospital he was charged with involuntary manslaughter, reckless driving, driving while license revoked, and fictitious registration.
