SHOOTING ON WEST SUGAR CREEK AND TWO CHILDREN SHOT, SUSPECTS ARRESTED

Jatarius Jones, 20, was arrested after 2 wild shootings in Charlotte, NC. Dominique Daniels, 20, and Niyha Durham, 22, were also arrested.

On September 21, 2020 there was a shooting at the intersection of West Sugar Creek Road and North Tryon Street. A vehicle was shot into while people were inside. Unknown suspects discharged a firearm into a man’s vehicle. 

The suspect vehicle was located miles away on Lasalle Street but the vehicle left the immediate area at a high rate of speed, and a police pursuit ensued. The pursuit ended at the intersection of Barringer Drive and Pressley Road, where Jatarius, Dominique, and Niyha were arrested on felony conspiracy charges, assault by pointing gun charges and other charges.

From information and evidence obtained during the continued investigation, detectives were able to identify Jatarius as a suspect in the shooting of two kids at apartments on Amity Pointe Road.

As a result, detectives obtained warrants on Jatarius for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury.
