POLICE OFFICER SHOT AND KILLED DURING TRAFFIC STOP

32-year-old Officer Jordan Harris Sheldon was shot and killed during a routine traffic stop on May 4, 2019 at 10 p.m.

The shooting occurred off Highway 150 near a famous car dealership in Mooresville, NC. A man shot Officer Sheldon during a traffic stop and then ran.

Officer Sheldon was transported to the hospital, but later died.

Mooresville police found the suspect vehicle, but the suspect had left the scene. Officers were able to find the accused gunman in a nearby apartment, but he shot himself and later died.  

Officer Sheldon was with the Mooresville Police Department k-9 unit, he was on the force for 6 years.
