A Pineville Police Department officer shot and killed a man suspected of shoplifting at a Food Lion on Johnston Road Charlotte, NC. The fatal shooting was on May 14, 2024.
The shooting involved a sergeant that was in uniform working off duty security at the Food Lion.

At 3 p.m. a suspect entered the store, and Food Lion employees say they saw the suspect steal. The suspect exited the store and the cop followed him.
The police officer grabbed the suspect and a fight began. The suspect was able to break free from the cop and ran away.
The cop followed the suspect to a apartment complex across the street. Another fight began and the officer shot and killed the suspect.
