Sergeant Sean Dunne, 40, was arrested on October 16, 2022 charged with assault on a female. The arrest stems from a domestic violence incident that occurred at Officer Sean’s residence. Sean is a Sergeant at the Mecklenburg County Jail in uptown Charlotte, NC.
In the early morning hours of October 16, 2022 police responded to a 911 domestic violence call at Officer Sean’s residence around 1:23 A.M.
There were no arrests made at the residence, but an arrest warrant was issued later for assault charges on Officer Sean because of the incident.
Field Operations personnel from the Sheriff’s Office took Officer Sean into custody, and he was taken to the arrest processing center at approximately 7:40 P.M. on October 16th. Officer Sean was criminally charged and served with a domestic violence protective order.
Officer Sean remains in jail custody and is scheduled to appear before a judge in district court at 9:00 A.M. on October 17, 2022.
Officer Sean’s employment with the jail began September 9, 2012. He was promoted to the rank of Sergeant on June 2, 2021, and assigned to the Mecklenburg County Detention Center.
Officer Sean was terminated on October 17, 2022 due to his arrest.
