MECKLENBURG COUNTY LIFEGUARDS AND STAFF AT POOLS DIAGNOSED WITH COVID-19

On July 23, 2020 four Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation Aquatic staff members had been diagnosed with COVID-19 in Charlotte, NC. 

The infected employees consist of two lifeguards and two supervisors who work at county pools. The employees rotate shifts between the Mecklenburg County Aquatic Center and the Double Oaks Pool in Charlotte, NC. Mecklenburg County Public Health did a case investigation.

There have been 18,401 confirmed Coronavirus cases and 187 related deaths in Mecklenburg County. COVID-19 (also known as novel Coronavirus) is a contagious viral infection of the respiratory tract which is most commonly spread from person to person through close contact.
