This cookout got out of hand really fast. Jessie Crawford, 60, is charged with murdering his girlfriend Iris Robinson, 51, at a cookout in Newton, NC on June 5, 2021.
On June 5th Iris was helping a friend get ready for a family cookout. Jessie arrived and got into an argument with Iris. Jessie allegedly pointed a gun at Iris, but he ended up leaving without pulling the trigger.
A short time later, Jessie returned and allegedly shot Iris several times at the cookout. EMS provided medical assistance to Iris, but she died from the shooting.
Jessie was arrested a few hours later and charged with first-degree murder.
A man was shot at a Labor Day cookout in 2019.
Several people were shot at during another Labor Day cookout also.
