Demtrice Gibson, 31, was killed in a vehicular accident today. Demtrice slammed into a tree and was trapped in his vehicle.
The crash took place on West Morehead Street in front of the Panther’s Stadium.
On Thursday, December 27th, 2018 a 2007 Buick Lucerne was traveling northwest on West Morehead Street. The Buick, driven by Demtrice was traveling above the posted speed limit and lost control.
The Buick began to skid and slide off the road. The front bumper of the Buick grazed one tree, then continued off the roadway and struck a second tree on the driver’s side.
Demtrice was trapped in the crushed vehicle and was pronounced deceased on scene by Medic.
Excessive speed was a contributing factor in this crash, but impairment is not suspected.
