MAN KILLED AFTER FORD MUSTANG RUNS OFF ROAD AND HITS UTILITY POLE

Date:

57-year-old Barry Sims was killed on March 7, 2019 in Charlotte, NC.

Barry was traveling in his Ford Mustang on South Tryon Street, he eventually traveled off the roadway to the right, striking a raised concrete curb, officials say. After striking the curb, the Ford Mustang traveled down an embankment, approximately 200 feet, before overturning onto the driver’s side and striking a utility pole.

Mr. Sims was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash and test results are pending for the consumption of alcoholic beverages prior to this crash. At this time, it is unknown as to the circumstances to why the Ford Mustang traveled off the roadway, however speed is not a factor in this crash.

Barry was pronounced deceased on scene. There were no other passengers in the Ford Mustang.
