On September 28, 2020, at approximately 4:57 a.m. Johnny McKinney, 34, was killed on Sam Wilson Road Charlotte, NC in a vehicle collision.
A Hyundai Santa Fe was traveling when it collided into the back of the bicycle that Johnny was riding. The impact threw Johnny several feet in the air. Johnny was pronounced deceased at the scene.
This section of Sam Wilson Road is dark, with no street lights. The driver of the Hyundai was screened for impairment, and she did not show signs of impairment. Excessive speed is not suspected to be a contributing factor for the Hyundai.
