LATINO MOTHER KILLED IN FRONT OF HER 5 KIDS, TWO SUSPECTS WANTED

Two suspects are wanted for their alleged roles in killing Lucero Sosa Capote and injuring two of her children in the early a.m. hours of July 12, 2019 in Monroe, NC.

Warrants were issued for Antwan Sturdivant, 19, and Byron Watkins, 25 on July 24.

The incident happened around 4:40 a.m. at a home on Tower Court. Officials say two suspects forced their way into Lucero’s home and demanded cash. One or both of the suspects allegedly shot and killed Lucero in front of her five kids.

Two of the children tried protecting their mommy by attempting to stop the suspects, but that is when the suspects allegedly physically assaulted the two kids.

The kids were treated for minor injuries resulting from the altercation.

Antwan is charged with 1st Degree Murder, 1st Degree Burglary, Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon, and Assault on a Female.

Watkins is charged with 1st Degree Murder, 1st Degree Burglary, Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Discharge a Firearm in an occupied dwelling, and Assault on a Child under 12.
