JURY CONVICTS MAN THAT BEAT GIRLFRIEND IN DRUNK RAGE

Justin Locke, 32, was convicted by a jury on Tuesday December 5, 2017 for beating his girlfriend and shooting into her vehicle as she tried to escape.

Justin was drunk when he began fighting with his girlfriend, she attempted to run from the situation but Justin shot at her. Police were called and arrested Justin on scene.

Fast forward over a year later to trial; Justin was tried for 1) two counts of assault on a female, 2) three counts of assault with a deadly weapon with the intent to kill, 3) discharging a weapon into an occupied vehicle in operation and 4) possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

The jury found Locke guilty of one count of assault on a female, three counts of the lesser-included offense of misdemeanor assault with a deadly weapon and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

The jury found Locke not guilty of one count of assault on a female and discharging a weapon into an occupied vehicle in operation.

Judge Bray sentenced Locke to 19-32 months in prison, as well as an additional 150 days in custody; those sentences were suspended pending Locke’s successful completion of 24 months of supervised probation.
As conditions of his probation, Locke must complete a certified intervention program for batterers, perform 100 hours of community service and wear an electronic monitor for 6 months.
