The girl who is now 17-years-old told cops that from the age of 10 years old to the age of 13 years old her grandfather Randy Brown was performing sexual acts on her and making her perform sexual acts on him in Charlotte, court documents say.
The granddaughter said that the alleged abuse would occur weekly, sometimes multiple times a week. The minor victim disclosed to vaginal intercourse, oral sex, butt intercourse, digital penetration of her front private parts and booty.
Grandpa Randy was a professional photographer and multimedia editor; he is accused of taking nude pictures and videos of his granddaughter during the alleged sexual incidents.
Randy is then accused of showing the girl video clips of her performing oral sex on him, and pornographic videos used as training, prosecutors say.
Arrest documents allege that Randy kept the sexually obscene pictures and videos locked in a home office that no one was allowed to enter.
The granddaughter said that during a alleged sexual intercourse incident with her grandfather Randy that she intentionally broke part of the head board on the bed in attempts to wake up her grandmother who was sleeping nearby.
After talking to the girl, cops began to investigate Randy. Hence, on December 5, 2025 Randy participated in a voluntary interview. The defendant stated he has had no contact with the minor victim for five years, but showed detectives pictures on his phone of the child’s backside with no clothing.
On December 8, 2025, Randy came back to police headquarters unannounced to change his story. Grandpa Randy admitted to lying in his previous interview. So on December 22, 2025, the CMPD Cyber Crimes Unit was able to extract images from Randy’s phone allegedly depicting his granddaughter completely nude and in positions exposing her private parts.
These alleged photos were extracted from the cache of Randy’s phone due to Randy attempting to delete the evidence.
Randy was arrested on December 28, 2025 charged with 3 counts of statutory rape of a child, 3 counts of statutory sex offense of a child, 1 count of first degree sexual exploitation of a minor, 1 count of third degree sexual exploitation of a minor, and 8 counts of indecent liberties with a child.
