The North Carolina beauty queen jumped from a 60 story building in New York

Cheslie Kryst, 30, killed herself on January 30, 2022. Cheslie won the Miss USA and Miss North Carolina beauty pageants in 2019. Cheslie jumped from a 60-story building at 350 W. 42nd Street in New York City at 7:15 a.m.

Cheslie reportedly left a suicide note and then jumped from the 29th floor to her death in the bitter New York cold. New York recently had an intense snow storm. Cheslie was also a Charlotte attorney.

Shortly before Cheslie committed suicide she left a Instagram post saying “May this day bring you rest and peace.”

Senator Thom Tillis released a statement:

I am heartbroken to hear about the tragic death of former Miss North Carolina & Miss USA Cheslie Kryst. I enjoyed meeting her in my office in 2019, where we discussed a number of issues affecting North Carolinians. Susan & I are praying for her family during this difficult time.

Cheslie received her bachelor’s degree from the University of South Carolina, she was also a track and field star at the university. Cheslie is a graduate of Wake Forest University School of Law.

Upon being crowned Miss USA, Cheslie worked as a correspondent for ExtraTV.
