Joshua Scribben, 40, died on March 11, 2026 while kayaking in Lake Norman in Knox Creek Cove, NC. Joshua leaves behind a wife and kid.
Joshua was on a kayak when it flipped over and the victim fell out into the water. A under current pulled Joshua under the water and he drowned.
Wildlife officials searched and could not find Joshua. The victim’s body and kayak flowed to shore hours later. Investigators said that Joshua was not wearing a life jacket. Many say Lake Norman is haunted on claims that it was built on a predominant black peoples’ village. Several people have been killed in Lake Norman over the years.
