Benjamin Damron, 36, was arrested on November 18, 2022 in Charlotte, NC. Benjamin is accused of nine counts of indecent liberties with a child and one count of sexual battery.
Benjamin was a youth leader, coach, or visitor for at least four local organizations including: Elevation Church, Mercy Church, Southbrook Church, and Soccer Shots according to police.
In the initial investigation, three total victims were identified as teenage boys. Benjamin met the teen boys when he was in a role as a volunteer church youth leader and coach.
Cops say Benjamin used his position to take advantage of the victims and sexually assault them. The incidents involved in this investigation allegedly occurred in Charlotte, Matthews, and in Union County.
All of the listed churches and organizations have been notified of Benjamin’s arrest and they are cooperating in the child sex crimes investigation.
