On May 24, 2021 two people were killed in a shooting while they were riding their motorcycles near Reidsville, NC on U.S. 29 highway. Martin Cox is the suspect in the double murder, he was arrested on May 25, 2021.
Investigators say Martin shot three people while they were riding motorcycles on Highway 29 near Reidsville around 5 p.m. Two of the motorcycle riders died, the third victim was rushed to the hospital in stable condition
Authorities say Martin was driving a large red dually pickup truck when he lunged out and shot the victims. The suspect was accused of fleeing the scene in the truck.
Martin was captured near Louisville, Kentucky. He is now charged with two counts of first-degree murder.
The double homicide shut down part of US 29 North for several hours.
