COURT IN UPTOWN EVACUATED DUE TO BOMB THREAT

Date:

A bomb threat presented itself at the Mecklenburg County Court building on 832 E. Fourth St. Charlotte, NC on September 28, 2023 in Charlotte, NC. Attorneys and shackled inmates fighting for an innocence verdict were seen leaving court in a hurry.

Around noon someone either called in a bomb threat or issued a bomb threat verbally. As a result, the court was evacuated, causing in session cases to suddenly be cancelled and delayed.

Authorities searched the court building after the bomb threat.

Deputies and K9 units conducted a thorough search. There is no word on if any bombs were found. The same court was shutdown for days during the Coronavirus outbreak, several judges and court employees were infected with COVID-19.
