Dana Jackson, 52, is from Charlotte, NC she died in the nation of Haiti on July 22, 2024 while trying to become a Vodou priestess. Follow Charlotte Alerts on Instagram.
Dana had been practicing Vodou for 4 years. She eventually accumulated an interest to get deeper into the practice by becoming a Vodou pastor.
So, Dana scheduled a trip to war torn, poor, deplorable, disease infested Haiti. Dana caught a flight on July 1, 2024 for a Vodou retreat in Haiti.
Dana was set to return on July 24, 2024. Sadly Dana would never return to the United States.
While in Haiti Dana kept in constant contact with her son via WhatsApp. Dana was actively participating in weird Vodou spiritual events in Haiti.
The spiritual encounters were going to get really intense during the last few days of the retreat and Dana knew this.
Dana called her son and told him that she would not be in contact with him for the last few days of the trip due to intense spiritual ceremonies.
It is not known what took place in the Vodou ceremonies. But sometimes the ceremonies take place in the deep wilderness.
Dana ended up dead on July 22, 2024 during the Vodou retreat. Dana’s son got a call on July 22nd stating that his mother was dead. Dana’s son was told his mother had got sick and died. Other people told Dana’s son that she had a panic attack, stroke, heart attack, and seizures.
Dana’s family said they have yet to get a straight answer as to how Dana died or what happened. A death certificate from Haiti does not even list a cause of death for Dana.
