BODY FRACTURES FOUND ON 3-YEAR-OLD GIRL, MOTHER ARRESTED

Date:

Veronica Sanchez, 31, was arrested on March 3, 2022 accused of abusing her 3-year-old daughter. The alleged abuse was in Miami, Florida. The infant was found with 15 body fractures.

Veronica took her 3-year-old daughter to a hospital, reporting that the girl had a self inflicted head injury. Doctors at the hospital examined the girl and found that she had 15 body fractures that were not self inflicted.

The doctors also noted that some of the body fractures were several months old.

Child protection teams arrived at the hospital and determined that the young girl had been physically abused.

Veronica told authorities that on one occasion she grabbed her daughter and pushed her against a wall. Additionally, Veronica said that on another occasion she had slammed the child against a mattress.

Veronica says she was frustrated with her daughter’s behavior.

Veronica said she didn’t take her daughter to the hospital sooner because she feared police and the Department of Children and Families would be called on her.

Veronica was arrested at the hospital and given a $15,000 bond. She is charged with aggravated child abuse and child neglect, both with great bodily harm.
