Lequinton Melton, 26, was charged in the beating of his teenage girlfriend that led to her death. The victim is identified as 19-year-old Taylor Liles.
On June 8, 2019 Lequinton is accused of beating Taylor at his home on N. Kendall Street in Norwood, NC. Lequinton then allegedly drove Taylor to Atrium Stanly hospital in Albemarle, NC and left.
Taylor’s injuries were so severe that she had to be flown to a specialist hospital. Taylor died from the injuries she sustained in the alleged assault involving her boyfriend.
Lequinton was arrested and charged with first degree murder. He is currently being held in the Ralph McSwain Detention Center under no bond.
