On April 19, 2021 Richard Dutton, 52, was sentenced in U.S. District Court to 200 months in federal prison for sexual exploitation of children in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Richard pleaded guilty to the charge on November 4, 2020.
Richard was a baby sitter for kids that he instead raped, molested, and photographed nude. The boy was 6-years-old and the girl was 4 years of age. The sexual abuse went on for 2 years. Richard forced the kids to watch child pornography while he raped them.
In January 2020, staff at a local elementary school reported that Richard was sexually abusing minor aged children. A subsequent investigation discovered that Richard had produced child pornography using a minor child.
Investigators obtained a search warrant for Richard’s electronic devices and discovered images of the sexual abuse taken on his phone. Nude pictures of the sexually abused boy were found on Richard’s phone. In court, Richard admitted that he took the images. As a result of his conviction, Richard will be required to register as a sex offender.
