BABY FOUND DEAD IN HOME FULL OF FECES, MOM ARRESTED, OTHER KIDS LIVED IN HOME

Date:

27-year-old Ashley Nicole Heyward McPherson is charged with six counts of unlawful neglect of a child. She was arrested on Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2019 in Florence, South Carolina.

A dead baby was found in the home and there were also other children living in unsuitable conditions within the home, that included animal defecation and urine.

Ashley and her children were staying in a home that was not suitable for living. It reportedly contained feces from various animals that roamed freely in the home.

The feces were found in the bathtub and the toilet, while trash was found all through the house, including in bedrooms, the kitchen and the living room.

According to investigators,

“McPherson is alleged to have placed her children at an unreasonable risk of harm impacting their health and personal safety by allowing them to be in a home that was not suitable for living.”

These conditions came to light when first responders were called to the suspect’s South Carolina home for the death of Ashley’s child. The child was seven weeks old. There is no word on how the child died.

The other children have been taken into protective custody. Ashley is being held at the Florence County Detention Center on a $100,000 surety bond.
