ASSISTED LIVING EMPLOYEE ACCUSED OF STEALING $100,000 FROM ELDERLY RESIDENTS

Date:

Michely Beth Fuentes Arriaga, 30, is accused of stealing more than $100,000 worth of jewelry from elderly residents while working as a cleaning lady at the Aston Gardens senior assisted living facility in Westchase, FL from January-October 27, 2020.

While cleaning residents’ rooms, Michely allegedly stole more than $100,000 worth of jewelry. She is accused of then pawning most of the items, which included necklaces, rings and bracelets. Officials were alerted to the missing items when a resident complained of missing items.

Michely allegedly pawned more than 100 items. Detectives have identified several victims, but they believe this investigation is far from over. Investigators believe there may be more victims due to the number of pawn shop transactions.

Michely is charged with five counts of grand theft, five counts of false information on a pawnbroker form, and five counts of dealing in stolen property.
