67-YEAR-OLD WOMAN KILLED ON BEATTIES FORD ROAD

Twanda Rayvon Denise Insar, 67, was killed on December 15, 2020 on Beatties Ford Road Charlotte, NC.

The death was the result of a motor vehicle collision.

Around midnight officers responded to a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Beatties Ford Road and B Avenue. The preliminary investigation indicates a Honda was traveling when Twanda was walking and pushing a shopping cart. Twanda entered the roadway and directly into the path of the Honda, officials say. 

The driver of the Honda applied brakes, but could not avoid striking the cart and Twanda, she was hit hard on impact by the vehicle. The driver of the Honda immediately stopped and provided aid to Twanda until emergency medical personnel arrived on scene.

Twanda sustained serious injuries as a result of the crash and was pronounced deceased on scene. The driver will not be charged.
