3 BLACK MEN CHARGED WITH SHOOTING 9-YEAR-OLD GIRL

A 9-year-old girl was violently shot on December 16, 2020 in Charlotte, NC, she is a miracle because she survived, but she has serious injuries and went through a complicated surgery.

Anthony Smith, 21, Tariq Miller, 23, and Shiodon Shipp, 23, were all arrested on December 17, 2020 for their alleged involvement in the shooting of a nine-year-old female.

The shooting was on December 16, 2020, in the rainy late afternoon on Davenport Street. 4 bullets were shot into a residence where several people were living. One of the bullets hit the 9-year-old female. The residence was occupied at the time of the shooting by five other people whose ages ranged from 6 to 84. 

The girl was transported by paramedics to a local hospital with serious injuries. She had an emergency surgery and is expected to live.  

Information and evidence gathered by officers and the Real-Time Crime Center led them to locate a suspect vehicle on Beatties Ford Road.

When officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop on the vehicle, the vehicle failed to stop and a pursuit ensued. The pursuit ended on Patton Avenue where the suspects were all detained without further incident.

Following an interview with detectives, all three suspects were charged with four counts of discharging firearm into occupied property, five counts of assault with deadly weapon with intent to kill, assault with deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, and felony conspiracy.
