Fentanyl killed 2 Hough High School students in Cornelius, NC. The victims are identified as Laird Ramirez, 17, and Olivia Moloney, 14. Fentanyl overdoses widens pupils, turns skin cold, and triggers respiratory failure resulting in fast death.

On July 1, 2023 Laird died from a fentanyl overdose. He was using percocets from the street that was laced with fentanyl. Laird was staying the night at a friend’s house on the night of his death.
Sadly Laird never came back home after the slumber party. Laird’s parents got a phone call the next morning stating that Laird was dead from fentanyl overdose.
Laird liked to wrestle and ride his skateboard.
On Sept. 11, 2022 Olivia took percocets that were laced with fentanyl. She went to sleep in her bedroom and never woke up. Olivia was found dead in her bed, paramedics arrived and pronounced her dead on scene.

The parents of Laird and Olivia began to learn more about their drug using habits by looking through their smart phones after they were dead.

As it turned out, Laird was using CashApp to pay for drugs. Hough High School Principal David Farley sent a message to families of the school once the students overdosed.
David urged students and parents to say something if someone is using drugs. Click here to see the many fentanyl and cocaine overdose deaths.
