On August 31, 2020 illegal immigrants were found being smuggled in a freight liner truck in El Centro, CA.
The incident occurred at 5:45 p.m., when federal agents conducted a vehicle stop on a white Freight liner tractor-trailer that was potentially being used for human smuggling.
During the stop, agents discovered that the driver was a 40-year-old illegal immigrant from Mexico. Agents subsequently searched the trailer and found eight illegal immigrants that were locked inside of the utility trailer.
Agents safely removed all of the subjects and conducted welfare checks. The smuggler and all eight illegal immigrants were placed under arrest and transported to a rally point for further processing. The driver was processed administratively for immigrant smuggling.
