Reginald Williams, 36, was sentenced to 15 years in prison on August 16, 2024 in Charlotte, NC for buying kilograms of fentanyl from an undercover cop. Reginald also sold guns to the cop.

Reginald traded guns for drugs. On July 9, 2020, law enforcement learned that Reginald was trafficking cocaine, marijuana, and fentanyl in the Charlotte area. Follow Charlotte Alerts on Instagram.
Over the course of the investigation, a undercover cop communicated with Reginald. The cop was posing as a drug supplier.
During a conversation with the undercover cop Reginald said he wanted to buy two kilograms of cocaine and indicated that he would pay for one kilogram of cocaine in cash and would trade firearms as payment for the second kilogram.
On August 12, 2020, Reginald met with the cop to execute the drug transaction. At that meeting, Reginald and another individual placed two rifles and two semiautomatic pistols in the trunk of the undercover cop’s vehicle, and a bag containing $37,800 in cash in the vehicle of a second undercover cop.
A task force of police officers were watching the whole time and then moved in to arrest Reginald on the scene.
The suspect was arrested. A federal search warrant was executed at an apartment Reginald used to store drugs. Law enforcement seized fentanyl, plastic baggies, and other items consistent with drug distribution, as well as 28 rounds of ammunition.
A search of Reginald’s residence yielded $23,748 in cash, quantities of fentanyl, heroin, marijuana, a revolver gun and ammunition.
During the investigation, Reginald admitted to buying kilogram quantities of fentanyl and heroin, which he further distributed to others. He also admitted to illegally obtaining firearms from a gun trafficking source.
In August 2024 Reginald pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute fentanyl and marijuana. The suspect was given 15 years in prison and was also ordered to serve four years under court supervision after he is released.
