$500,000 DRUG BUST WORTH 20 KILOGRAMS OF COCAINE

Date:

Anthony Foster, 45, Reynaldo Padilla, and Alejandro Padilla were all involved in a lucrative drug deal that involved $500,000 in cold hard cash.

On December 9, 2020 a Charlotte, NC federal jury convicted Anthony of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute cocaine and aiding and abetting possession with intent to distribute cocaine.

According to evidence presented at trial, Anthony was involved in a drug trafficking conspiracy with his two co-defendants, Reynaldo and Alejandro. On June 29, 2020, Reynaldo and Alejandro arranged the purchase of 20 kilograms (Bricks) of cocaine for $500,000. Reynaldo and Alejandro met with Anthony on the same day in Belmont, N.C. for the drug deal.

At that meeting, Anthony handed Reynaldo a duffel bag that contained $500,000 in cash.

The conspirators intended to make future purchases of 100 to 200 kilograms of cocaine, per transaction. Undercover cops were watching via a confidential informant. Cops made the arrest of all suspects immediately.

Both Reynaldo and Alejandro have pleaded guilty to conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute cocaine and aiding and abetting possession with intent to distribute cocaine, and are currently awaiting sentencing.

Anthony is in federal custody and is facing a sentence of 15 years to life in prison per charge, due to his prior federal drug trafficking conviction. A sentencing date for Antony has not been set.
