$176,000 IN MARIJUANA SEIZED AT TEXAS CHECKPOINT

U.S. Customs and Border Protection Office of Field Operations at the Pharr International Bridge cargo facility in Pharr, Texas discovered $176,000 worth of marijuana within a commercial trailer arriving from Mexico.

On Dec. 9, 2019 a officer assigned to the cargo facility referred a commercial tractor pulling an empty trailer to the non-intrusive imaging system for a secondary examination.

A more intrusive subsequent inspection led to the discovery of 275 packages of marijuana weighing 878.5 pounds that were hidden within the trailer.
