On December 20, 2021 Alexis Sykes, 23, was sentenced to 10 years in prison for pouring boiling hot water on her boyfriend while he was sleeping in Chicago. To make matters worse, she posted video of the aftermath to the Snap Chat app.
On January 2, 2021 Alexis poured hot boiling water on her boyfriend as he slept in an apartment. The boyfriend jumped up in shock and began screaming. His skin began to melt off of his bones as Alexis sat there and watched in entertainment.
Alexis also had already hid her boyfriend’s car keys so he would have a harder time driving to a hospital to get help. Alexis began recording the encounter and posted it to Snap Chat. The boyfriend was finally able to get a pair of backup car keys to drive himself to the hospital.
Skin was falling off of his arms, face, and torso. He spent 2 weeks in the hospital burn unit where he underwent skin graft surgery to treat his burns.
Alexis went on the run after the violent incident, but she was arrested in Mississippi on January 19, 2021.
And in December 2021 Alexis was convicted of aggravated battery by caustic substance and sentenced to 10 years in prison. Alexis and her boyfriend broke up after the burn encounter.
