A loving father was killed in a fatal vehicle crash on August 22, 2022. Jayquan Marquise, 24, was identified as the victim. 27-year-old Katiyah Hines is charged with Jayquan’s death. Katiyah owns a hair braiding business in Charlotte called Braid Barbie.
The crash was on Pat Garrett Street Charlotte, NC at 12:45 a.m. Katiyah was driving a vehicle with Jayquan inside as the passenger. The vehicle collided with two parked cars on the side of the road. The vehicle overturned.
Jayquan was pronounced deceased on scene. Katiyah was transported to the hospital with minor injuries. She was later arrested and charged with felony death by vehicle.
There were no people in the 2 parked cars, but all vehicles sustained heavy damage. Jayquan had 2 kids and a fiancee.
