Bartelmi Henlein Medrano-Cadiz, 45, was killed on September 3, 2022, at 12:36 a.m. on Camp Steward Road Charlotte, NC.
Paramedics were driving along Camp Stewart Rd. when they encountered a crash. Medics observed an unresponsive pedestrian and a Jeep Cherokee in the roadway.
The pedestrian was pronounced deceased on scene at 12:38 a.m. The driver and passenger of the Jeep Cherokee remained on scene.
The Jeep was driving when it struck the pedestrian Bartelmi.
Bartelmi appeared to be walking across the roadway in a very dark non crosswalk area and was in the Jeep’s lane of travel. The driver of the Jeep was screened for impairment by a DWI Task Force officer and was determined not to be impaired.
Excessive speed does not appear to be a contributing factor in this crash. Impairment of the Bartelmi is unknown and toxicology results are pending.
