Jeremiah Reed, 25, was sentenced to 81 months in prison on September 30, 2026 in Charlotte, NC for having a machine gun style Glock.

The conviction stems from a August 13, 2024 from what appears to be an unconstitutional traffic stop. Cops saw Jeremiah with a gun, but having a gun is not illegal as it is a 4th Amendment Constitutional Right.
After seeing the gun cops then acted to conduct a traffic stop on Jeremiah. Cops searched the vehicle and found a Glock handgun that had been converted into a machine gun with a Glock switch drum.
Jeremiah also possessed over 300 pills of various shapes, sizes, colors and dosages of controlled substances. The suspect was arrested. According to filed documents, on August 23, 2024, the suspect was stopped by Mint Hill Police Department officers in Mint Hill, North Carolina for no apparent reason.
When the officers informed Jeremiah that his vehicle would be searched, he attempted to run away but was quickly apprehended. The officers searched the vehicle and located a Glock firearm.
The gun had an extended clip and was loaded with 23 rounds of ammunition. A second firearm was located under the front passenger seat. The officers also recovered additional narcotics and prescription drugs in the vehicle. Jeremiah was arrested again.
In March 2026, Jeremiah pleaded guilty to possession of a machine gun and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime. In September 2026 Jeremiah was sentenced to 81 months in prison.
