Video displays an Amazon cargo plane crashing into a highway at the Miami airport killing 5 people. Amazon sued for millions in wrongful death lawsuit by families of victims
A Amazon plane Boeing 767-33A aircraft over ran the runway on September 6, 2026 at the Miami International Airport and killed 5 people after running into a van. The crash killed Rolando Aleman Leon, 55; Yoel Rodriguez Narajo, 53; Julio C. Pineda, 75; Carlos Acosta Fajardo, 53; and Javierk Reyes Quevedo, 47.
The plane was arriving from Puerto Rico. 2 pilots were operating the Amazon plane when they were attempting to land the plane. The plane made contact with the runway and then drove off of the runway and into several security fences, the Amazon plane then crashed into a van that had 5 passengers.
Rolando, Yoel, Julio, Carlos, and Javierk were in the van and died from the collision. The crash caused an explosion. The plane continued onto a highway further smashing into a Toyota Corolla. The plane was carrying 32,000 pounds of cargo.
The Amazon plane went 130 feet beyond the paved surface of the runway. Several other people were injured in the crash. The pilot and co-pilot of the plane survived but were injured and sent to the hospital. The crash caused a full ground stop at the airport.
The families of the dead victims have already filed wrongful death lawsuits on Amazon for millions of dollars.
