2 CHARLOTTE WOMEN ACCUSED OF INSURANCE FRAUD, CREATING FALSE LIFE INSURANCE APPLICATIONS

Two Charlotte insurance brokers were arrested on July 15, 2026 in Charlotte, NC accused of filing false life insurance applications for profit, according to North Carolina Insurance Commissioner. The suspects are identified as Johnnisha Albert, 28, and Regina King, 32. The N.C. Department of Insurance led the investigation.

Special agents with the Department of Insurance’s Criminal Investigations Division accused Johnnisha of submitting 17 false life insurance applications to Corebridge Direct Insurance Services Inc. and Gerber Life Insurance Co.

As a result she obtained $43,454.21 in commissions. Regina also worked as an insurance broker and allegedly submitted five false life insurance applications to United of Omaha Life Insurance Co. to obtain commission payments.

The suspects were arrested after an investigation and charged with felony insurance fraud and felony obtaining property by false pretense.
