Janayazia Thomas, 27, was arrested on May 7, 2026 accused of child abuse in Charlotte, NC.
Janayazia says she caught her 10-year-old son in a lie about stealing her Rolex watch, and bringing it to school with him to show his classmates.
As punishment Janayazia is accused of hitting the kid in the face with a closed fist and beating him. Janayazia then made her son leave the residence in the rain wearing only underwear.
The kid went to a neighbor’s house for help and flagged down the male neighbor as he was driving. The neighbor stopped the car and let the kid inside, giving him pants and a shirt and some juice.
The neighbor called police. Cops arrived and saw the minor kid had visible swelling and bruising to his face. The kid told police what happened. Janayazia was arrested charged with misdemeanor child abuse and assault on a child under 12 years of age.
