Millionaire NASCAR driver Greg Biffle his wife and 2 kids were all killed in a plane explosion crash, along with the pilots. Wife texted mom, “We’re in trouble”
On December 18, 2025 retired NASCAR driver Greg Biffle, 55, was killed in a Cessna C550 business jet plane crash along with his wife Cristina, son Ryder, and daughter Emma. All 7 people on the private jet were killed including 3 pilots. The Cessna C550 plane crashed at the Statesville Regional Airport in Statesville, NC.
Greg Biffle won more than 50 races across NASCAR’s three circuits, including 19 at the Cup Series level. Greg also won the Truck Series championship in 2000 and the Xfinity Series title in 2002. Airplane safety and crashes are a huge issue as many deaths at airports and on airliners have occurred in 2025.
The Cessna C550 was taking off from the Statesville Regional Airport around 10 a.m. But as the plane made it to the air, the pilot turned around and attempted to re-land the plane due to mechanical issues, not getting over 2,000 feet altitude. Cristina then texted her mother saying “We’re in trouble.”
That was the last communication Cristina sent out.
The plane nose dived into the ground and exploded. The plane also clipped poles and brushed tree tops. The business jet then was set ablaze in fiery infernos from hell.
All 7 people on the Cessna C550 plane were killed. Greg Biffle owned the plane. The plane was going to Sarasota Bradenton International Airport and then to Treasure Cay Bahamas, and then to Fort Lauderdale.

“Devastating news. I had such tremendous respect for Greg as a driver, and we shared countless tough battles on the track. Like so many others, I was inspired by his tireless relief work during Hurricane Helene. My heart goes out to the Biffle family and everyone hurting.”
The cause of the crash is being investigated by the NTSB.
