The student was pledging Omega when he was punched in the chest several times, and died. Omega frat members bark and walk around saying “We the brahs”
In September 2025 a lawsuit was filed against Omega Psi Phi fraternity after Caleb Wilson, 20, died while pledging trying to become a member. Caleb was a student at Southern University. He died during a Omega fraternity ritual in Baton Rouge, LA on February 26, 2025. Now Caleb’s parents identified in court documents as Urania Wilson and Corey Wilson are suing the Omega fraternity seeking wrongful death and survival damages from the Omega Psi Phi fraternity, its members, and the State of Louisiana, through the Board of Supervisors of Southern University system.

Caleb was a junior mechanical engineering major and member of the “Human Jukebox” marching band, at Southern University. Caleb took interest in becoming a member of the Omega fraternity, where they bark at each other, have brute force beating rituals, call each other “the brahs”, and even have some ritual like procedures where they pull down their army fatigue pants and show their buttocks. Fraternities make the news often, check it out here.
Caleb began the brutal pledging process to become a member of the Omega fraternity. As a direct result, on February 26, 2025 Caleb was punched in the chest multiple times, to the point that he urinated on himself and loss consciousness. Omega fraternity members Isaiah Smith, Kyle Thurman and Caleb McCray were arrested on March 11, 2025 following Caleb’s death by the Omega fraternity.

Caleb and other pledgees were at a warehouse off campus being hazed to death. Once Caleb was knocked out, the Omega members changed Caleb’s clothes into basketball shorts and drove him to the hospital, telling hospital staff that he was playing basketball. That was a lie, Caleb was not playing basketball, Caleb was beat to death by the Omega fraternity.
The lawsuit asserts claims of negligence, gross negligence, and intentional conduct, alleging that the fraternity organizations failed to supervise their members and prevent illegal hazing, and that Southern University failed in its duty to protect students from foreseeable harm.
In March 2025 Southern University suspended the Omega fraternity for 10 years from the university and even removed Omega statues and icons from the fraternity yard area on campus.
In fact Southern University has previously expelled the Beta Sigma chapter of Omega Psi Phi in 2005 after an internal investigation concluded the chapter violated the student code of conduct by hazing students.
A man pledging Omega told police that Omega members beat him on the butt, shoulders, and chest to the point that the victim had deep bloody gashes on his body.
