The FBI arrested Omontie Rowe, 21, for his involvement in the murder of Harriet Cromartie who was a 63-year-old Grandmother.
Nazah James, 20, was arrested for the same murder a few days prior to Omontie’s arrest. There are indications that Nazah broke down in the interrogation room. Nazah is the mother of a young infant daughter, that was brought up in police interrogations.
On January 25, after a fight with another woman, Nazah and Omontie allegedly shot into a vehicle hitting Harriet and her granddaughter on Wynbrook Way Drive Charlotte, NC.
Harriet died from the shooting. The other victim was rushed to the hospital and survived.
As a result of continued investigation into this case, Homicide Detectives identified Omontie as an additional suspect in the murder of Harriet and obtained warrants for his arrest.
On Tuesday, January 29, police worked alongside members of the FBI and United States Secret Service to locate and arrest Omontie in York County, Pennsylvania.
Omontie is charged with Murder, Attempted Murder, Conspiracy to Commit Murder, and Discharging a Firearm into Occupied Property.
Upon extradition, he will be transferred to the custody of the Mecklenburg County Sherriff’s Office.
