TARGETED IMMIGRATION RAIDS LEAD TO SEVERAL ARRESTS

Date:

Immigration and Customs Enforcement, otherwise known as ICE is on a straight forward mission to arrest and deport any illegal immigrant on a nationwide scale. ICE conducted recent raids in Charlotte, NC that yielded several arrests (Pictured here). Some of the arrests took place on or near Central Avenue.

All of the arrestees were charged with federal illegal immigration related offenses. Some were charged with illegal re-entry into the U.S. after having already been deported. Any individual that returns to the United States illegally after being deported, is subject to immediate removal from the United States.

ICE remains committed to arresting and removing criminal aliens in the interest of public safety and national security, despite local decisions to not honor detainers and jeopardize the safety of its citizens,”

says Rebecca Adducci, ICE Field Office Director.

When law enforcement agencies fail to honor immigration detainers and release serious criminal offenders onto the streets, it undermines ICE’s ability to protect public safety and carry out its mission, ICE contends.

Stopping the flow of illicit immigration coming into the United States is a crucial part of addressing the immigration crisis. Immigration arrests are part of a comprehensive government effort to address illegal immigration.

The arrestees/individuals are in ICE custody awaiting a hearing before an immigration judge, or pending travel arrangements for removal in the near future.
